A TWIC or a Transportation Worker Identification Credential, simply means that you have been cleared by the US federal government to work in ports and shipping areas. The certification allows truckers to haul loads into ports, boats, and associated areas. Truckers without a TWIC card need to be escorted by authorized workers.
